If major parts are missing - such as the catalytic converter, engine, or gearbox - or if there is significant undisclosed damage, the quote may be adjusted upon collection. In some cases, if the misrepresentation is severe, collection may be refused and a charge for a wasted journey may apply.

It is important, however, that you honestly declare any missing major parts, such as the engine or an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) catalytic converter, as this will affect the final price. The quote we provide assumes the car is complete and intact.

While the V5C registration certificate, or logbook, is the preferred document as it simplifies the process, it is not always essential. However, as required by the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, you must provide valid photographic identification that confirms your name, date of birth, and address.

To comply with the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, which was enacted to prevent metal theft, it is illegal for us to make cash payments for scrap cars in England, Wales, and Scotland. Therefore, all payments are securely made by non-negotiable cheque or bank transfer.
